AFF

Owner / manual + automatic instructor / instructor trainer

Over the past 2 decades in the driving instruction industry, my passion and skills have grown and developed. I started as an instructor with other franchises and after achieving a grade ‘A’, I started training instructors. This helped me to build a network of talented instructors in the area. 13 years ago (in 2008) I launched Aff’s School of Motoring so that I could share my passion with like-minded instructors and provide high quality training and driving lessons across the south east. I have always loved helping others to grow and aim to tailor lessons to make learning effective and enjoyable. No matter what your abilities, needs or preferences we will help you achieve your driving goals.

For the past twenty years, I have had the honour of helping hundreds of ADI's qualify, which has helped me develop my skills into a more holistic trainer. It is always a great pleasure to share with clients what I have learned. If you want to experience revolutionary training where you are empowered to be the best you can be, then look no further. The best trainers are always learning, they make you think and show you that you can light your own way. Join us and give us the opportunity to prove that we are one of the best in the industry.

Darren

Senior INSTRUCTOR- MANUAL +automatic

An enthusiastic driver and lifelong car-nut, I started teaching my own daughter to drive after trained instructors had given up in exasperation… she had the unfortunate habit of closing her eyes, letting go of the wheel and screaming! But after years of teaching university students in the creative industry (largely ended by the covid pandemic) I found the communication skills needed for driving instruction to be very similar. Teaching a niece and a nephew soon followed, then an approach from a driving school encouraged me to make the leap into qualifying as a full-time instructor. A calm and humorous approach has proven to be very successful in putting students at their ease and through their tests.

Zara

Manual INSTRUCTOR

Being the first one to learn driving amongst my peer group I remember the freedom and excitement it gave me. It also meant my friends looked up to me a lot for guidance and help with learning to drive. I have encouraged people around me from anxious to the confused driver, and sat next to a few people who would go out to practice driving. It only made sense to take this as a full career, and here I am. It brings me great joy to get people on the road and encourage them to be a safe driver, and see them become great at maneuvering cars in various road structures. Joining Aff’s school of motoring meant I gained the confidence, structure, and support and give a life time skill.

David

Manual INSTRUCTOR

David obtained a degree from the University of London and then trained to become a teacher of sport and history. He became director of physical education after a number of years teaching at a grammar school in Surrey. He then went onto pursue a commercial career setting up a headhunting business where he he employed over 30 people. When his daughter turned 17 and wanted to learn to drive he struggled to find the right instructor and eventually managed to help her through her test. This inspired him to become a driving instructor and thoroughly enjoys taking students through their driving journey. He is very patient and calm and strives to ensure every student ends up as a safe and highly competent driver. The thrill of students passing their test in that life changing moment is such a great inspiration.
